Welcoming 2015

It’s A New Year!!
Well, it’s almost a new year. There are only a few days left before we say goodbye to 2014 and hello to 2015. Crazy right?
If you are like me, you have been thinking of what your new year resolutions are going to be and all of the ways this year will be different, better, and amazing! I've already created my list, which has a lot of things that have been on my list every New Years for the past few years but I still haven't completed it. Every year I write these things down and I start out strong and make it to like March before my fire burns out. It is kind of pathetic, but it happens and I am sure a lot of you can relate to my struggle. Well this year it is going to be different (something I also say pretty much every year), but this time I mean it. Thinking about the things I pledged to do last year and how different things would be now if I had just stuck to it is kind of saddening, but another year is coming and I am going to take advantage of it! Okay I am going to stop rambling and get to the point of this post! I want to share my resolutions with all of you, and I have even included pictures...because pictures make everything better.

1       1. Strengthen my relationship with God
So reading the entire bible from front to back in one year has been on my bucket list for a few years now and sadly I've never accomplished it. This year while I intend to finally do it, I also want to focus on strengthening my relationship with God altogether. Being diligent to do my devotions, to follow the plans He has for me, and to make prayer my first action instead of my last resort.

2      2. Take School Seriously

I did pretty good this past semester, but a
lot of it was filled with procrastination
and not studying and honestly just passing
some tests by the grace of God. This semester
I know I need to put more effort into studying
and actually trying to learn, not just passing the
class.

3     3. Be Healthy & Get Fit

This one I know is on a lot of people's lists every year.
Being at college provides a lot of opportunities to work out,(like the free gym or the track) but it also definitely has so many unhealthy options too (like the unlimited pizza bar and ice cream machines in the Caf.) This semester I want to learn to say no to the junk food, adopt healthy eating habits, and stick to an exercise routine, not only to beat the freshman 15 and feel amazing in my bikini this summer, but being healthy and fit overall is something that is important.
4     4.  Dance

Okay..I am obsessed with dancing. Like I have seen almost
every season of Dancing with the Stars, my You-tube history is
full of all things dance, it's a real problem. The only thing I am missing is the fact that I do not dance. At all. I love it, and I want to so bad, but I have never had the courage to go take a class or to try and pursue it outside of attempting to learn routines from dance tutorials in the privacy of my bedroom. (Although I have pretty much mastered every routine from High School Musical, but that's another story) So being in LA and surrounded by dance studios, I am finally stepping out of my comfort zone and going to take a class! I've already been in contact with a studio and have made plans for my first lesson when I get back to school!
6     5.Work on that Bucket List

Yes, I am one of those people who have their bucket list
doodled out in pretty sharpie colors in my "scrapbook/ book of randomness" (because that's a thing). I think I have around 100 things listed ranging from having a Disney movie marathon to adopting a child and owning a beach house. I have crossed a few things off my list, but I definitely need to work on checking
off a few more this coming year!
7     6.Be Confident
Do you know that song from Camp Rock that Demi Lovato sings? The one that goes "I've always been the kind of girl that hid my face. Too afraid to tell the world what I've got to say, but I have this dream right inside of me..." Yeah that one. Well as dumb as that may sound I feel like that part of the song relates to me way more than it should. This year I want to care less about what others think, and be me. I want to just be happy with who I am and step out of my comfort zone and do things I've always been to shy or afraid to do. Like this blog for example (;
       7. Make Memories

I'm going to be spending a majority of my year in California with some amazing new friends, how can I not make memories??

So this is my list this year!! What about you guys? What kind of resolutions are you making this year, and how do you plan to stick with it?

P.S. If you haven't, check out the tumblr pages I got the bucket list pictures from. They are pretty cool.

A Whole New World

Blogging is something I have always had a slight interest in, but something I never thought I would be able to do. For one, you need a whole lot of confidence and courage to put yourself out there for the world to see, and secondly, you have to either have a lot of knowledge on a subject or an interesting life worthy of sharing. I’m still not sure I have either of these things, but I do know that I am entering into a new chapter of my life and I want to make the most of it.  I figured what better way to keep myself accountable to making 2015 the best it can be than sharing my journey with all of you! I guess to give you a better idea of what I mean I should start off by telling you a little about me.
I was born in the amazing state of California, but spent my teen years on the East Coast. Even after spending 7 years on the East Coast, my heart still belonged to California and I knew that the cold weather and southern lifestyle was not for me. After graduating high school, I used college as my chance to get back to my home state. I am now a college freshman at a university in Southern California, and I could not be happier. Having the beach, Disneyland, and LA in my backyard still feels like a dream, and I am loving every second of it.
As 2015 approaches I am so excited to be in a place where the dreams I have had can finally come true and I plan to work towards them with everything I have. Basically I am just a 19 year old who is trying to make the most of this new season of being on my own for the first time. This blog will keep record of my adventures around California, my journey to discover new things, all of my current obsessions and anything that pops into my head really. Obviously I will explain more about this later as I figure it out myself! I hope you guys decide to stick around and come along for the ride. One of the things I love the most about this blogging thing is the community I see that is built around it and I am so excited to get to know you as we share life together! Too cheesy? Yeah I thought so, but it’s true!
Advice, Suggestions & Comments are more than welcome!
Much Love,

This Dreamer
